Cristom – Louise Vineyard Viognier 2022 (750ml) Discount

Description
Cristom Vineyards played a unique role in pioneering Viognier in the Willamette Valley. We were among the first to grow the varietal with our original plantings in 1993, and the first winery in the AVA to produce an estate Viognier with our 1996 vintage release.
Established in 1993, Louise Vineyard is named for Cristom Winegrower and Owner Tom Gerrie’s great-grandmother. The 20- to 30-year-old vines are planted with multiple vine spacings and three different rootstocks in geologically diverse volcanic Jory, shallow rocky soils, and Missoula Flood silt soils on a south-east facing hillside with an elevation range of 285 feet to 355 feet.
The 2021 Louise Vineyard Viognier exhibits the pure, nearly textbook characteristics of this varietal, with floral aromas of orange blossoms, honeysuckle, clover, and anise, as well as ripe fruit aromas of peach, apricot, and lychee. Slightly viscous on the palate, with bright acidity, it is well-balanced and has a long, lingering finish.
